Golf and whisky are both synonymous with Scotland. They are two of our finest assets and make ideal partners.
This timeless association means Tomatin’s sponsorship of the Highland Golf Links Pro Am this year feels like a natural reconnection.
Tomatin was the event’s first headline sponsor in 2012 and over the next four years saw it grow increasingly popular with golfers from the UK, Europe and further afield and become one of the most sought-after tournaments in the country.
Tomatin itself is also going from strength to strength; it was recently named the tenth fastest growing single malt in the USA and just swept the board at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition, claiming seven Double Gold and four Gold awards.
We have very close relationships with the three links courses at Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart and Nairn and the mix of quality golfing in these magnificent settings, along with Scotland’s renowned food and drink, is a perfect showcase for what the Highlands has to offer. It is an ideal fit for us and our markets at home and abroad.
We are also delighted to be working with other sponsors, Black Isle Brewery and Taylormade, as well as two of the area’s finest hotels, Culloden House and the Kingsmills, to further enhance the quality of this prestigious tournament.
A unique element of the Pro Am will be that, in addition to the winner’s cheque, the top professional will take home a bottle of 50-year-old Tomatin single malt which has been bottled exclusively for the event and is worth an estimated £10,000.
In addition, we are providing an exclusive bottle of 16-year old Tomatin single malt whisky for each amateur player from a commemorative cask produced specially for the Pro Am.
As our distillery is so close to the three Pro Am venues – being situated just 16 miles from Inverness - we can provide the opportunity for visiting players to see for themselves where we produce our award-winning whiskies and learn about our history that stretches back to 1897.
Over the past five years our visitor numbers have risen by 140 per cent, a growth that is being attributed to increased awareness of the Tomatin brand, both here in the UK and globally.
There are many reasons why the Highland Golf Links Pro Am is one of the richest and attractive tournaments on the PGA in Scotland circuit and we are excited, once again, to be involved in this prestigious event.
